Organizations: Access an exclusive community of ID Verified and/or background-checked finders

Updated over a week ago

HackerOne ID Verification enables your program to have access to a community of finders who have successfully completed an ID Verification to invite to your program. To opt-in to ID Verification, contact your Customer Success Manager.

HackerOne Clear enables your program to access an exclusive community of background-checked hackers. Background-checked finders are active, high-performing members of the HackerOne community who have satisfied strict criminal background checks. Having these hackers participate in your program ensures that trusted people are partnered with you to find vulnerabilities.

Note: HackerOne Clear is available as an add-on. To opt-in to Clear, contact your Account Manager.

To access your HackerOne Clear settings:

  1. Go to Program Settings > Program > Hacker Management > Clear.

  2. Click View the full list of Clear finders that have been invited to your program to see which invited finders are Clear-verified. Clear-verified finders will be marked with this icon:

How ID verification, residency & citizenship checks work

HackerOne partners with Veriff to conduct global ID Verification checks. The finder takes an image of their ID and then themselves in real time, which are then compared and verified. Residency and citizenship verification checks are completed by this same process with restrictions on what ID types can be used.

How criminal background checks work

HackerOne partners with CheckrFirst Advantage to conduct all global criminal background checks. For all countries, the maximum criminal background check allowed by law is performed. Unfortunately, countries where it’s illegal to perform criminal background checks won’t be eligible to participate in HackerOne criminal background-checked Clear programs. Currently, this includes Afghanistan, Djibouti, French Polynesia, Guernsey, Hong Kong, Iran, Isle of Man, Israel, Jersey, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Macao, Mayotte, Sierra Leone, and Syrian Arab Republic
