Organizations: Set your subscription preferences for reports

Updated over a week ago

You can set your subscription preferences for reports via notification settings. Adjust these preferences under Profile > User settings > Notifications.

Program Inboxes

Your report subscription preference settings for program inboxes are under the Program inboxes tab. There are 3 options. When selecting an option a modal will appear asking whether to retroactively apply these changes to previously received reports assigned to that inbox:

All

You will be subscribed to all new reports that are assigned to this inbox.

When retroactively applied: You will also be subscribed to all reports that have been previously assigned to this inbox.

Tailored

You will be subscribed to all new reports in that inbox where you are mentioned, assigned, or have interacted.

When applied retroactively: You'll also receive notifications for past reports in that inbox if you were mentioned, assigned, or interacted with them. This will automatically unsubscribe you from reports in that inbox that don't meet these criteria.

None

You will not be subscribed to new reports in that inbox.

When retroactively applied: You will be unsubscribed from all reports in that inbox.

Custom Inboxes

Subscribing to reports in custom inboxes is simpler. You can choose whether to receive notifications for newly assigned reports in your custom inbox. Manage these preferences under the Custom inboxes tab.

Handling Reports Assigned to Multiple Inboxes

A report is always assigned to a program inbox (of the program where it is submitted) and can be assigned to multiple custom inboxes. This means that you can have conflicting notification preferences for the same report.

Subscribing to New Reports

For example, if a report is assigned to both a program inbox (A) and a custom inbox (B), and the program inbox is set to not subscribe to any reports while the custom inbox is set to automatically subscribe to all new reports, you will receive notifications for the report. This is despite the program inbox's notification preference indicating that you should not be subscribed.

Unsubscribing from Reports

Unsubscribing from reports is similarly applied across all relevant inboxes. Say you have a program inbox (A) and a custom inbox (B). The custom inbox is configured to automatically subscribe to new reports. Assume the scenario where several reports are assigned to both inbox A and inbox B, which you are subscribed to.

If you configure program inbox A to not subscribe to new reports and subsequently unsubscribe from reports in program inbox A, you will be unsubscribed from all reports in program inbox A, regardless of custom inbox B's notification preferences.

Note: In this scenario, it does not matter whether the report was subscribed to automatically or manually, you will be unsubscribed from all reports in program inbox A.

Manually Subscribing to Reports

In some cases, you may want to subscribe or unsubscribe from a report regardless of your notification preferences. To do this, to the report and click the Notifications toggle in the report’s metadata sidebar.
