  2. In the Sign tax form window that pops open select one value against each of the two questions:

    • Whether you are a US citizen or other US person or not a US citizen or other US person

    • Whether you are completing the tax form as an individual or as a corporation .

  3. Click Save.

  4. You'll be redirected to the Payments homepage where you can click the link in the banner to sign your tax forms.

  5. If you make a mistake, you have the ability to start over. On the Settings > Rewards and Payments > Preferences page, you will have an opportunity to abandon an in-progress tax form, by clicking the Abandon this form and start over link and then press Save, and you will receive confirmation through your email that this has occurred.

  6. Once you confirm that you wish to sign the tax form, you will be sent an email via our partner HelloSign which you must open and add all of the relevant information and digitally sign. We will then review your completed tax form before it is approved, which can be identified when you see the green banner.

You can refer to these links for instructions on how to fill out your respective tax form.

  7. Once you have completed your tax form, if you have not already done so, set up your Payment Preferences.

Note: for American citizens living internationally, the instructions will not tell you how to fill out your W-9. If you are living internationally and are non-military, please use commas in the “city/state/zip” box to format your international address
as: “City, Postal Code, Country".

For those in the US military please use the string “US Military Base”.

These scenarios include, but are not limited to, instances when identity details are incomplete or when identity details are discrepant from previously submitted tax forms. If this occurs a member of HackerOne’s team may reach out to you to request additional details or request your tax form to be updated with more information.
