Manually Requesting Validation with the Posting User

Code: Learn how to manually trigger a HackerOne Code review

Updated over 3 weeks ago

You can manually request a HackerOne Code review by assigning a pull or merge request to the posting user in your source code management system. The posting user acts as a trigger for the validation workflow, allowing you to request reviews directly from within your code hosting platform.

Bitbucket Server

In addition to the methods described in Assigning Bitbucket Code Reviews to HackerOne Code, Bitbucket Server users can assign a pull request to the posting user to request a review from the HackerOne Code network.

Add the posting user to the Reviewers field when creating a Bitbucket pull request

Warning: Teams using Bitbucket Server version 5.9 or below may experience delays when assigning reviews or canceling active jobs using this method.

If your team has not upgraded to Bitbucket Server 5.10 or higher, we recommend assigning reviews through the HackerOne Code dashboard instead.

GitLab Self-Managed

In addition to the methods described in Assigning GitLab Merge Requests to HackerOne Code, GitLab Self-Managed users can request a review by assigning the merge request to the posting user.

Add the posting user to the Assignee field when creating a GitLab merge request

GitHub Enterprise

In addition to the methods described in Assigning GitHub Code Reviews to HackerOne Code, GitHub Enterprise users can manually trigger a review by assigning a pull request to the posting user.
