Updated Look & Feel

A more modern, more predictable HackerOne experience — rolling out gradually over the coming months.

Over the next several months, you'll start to notice HackerOne looking and feeling different. This guide explains why we're making this change, what to expect, and how you're in control of the experience the whole way through.

Why We're Doing This

Today, different parts of the HackerOne platform look and behave a little differently depending on when they were built. That inconsistency makes the product harder to learn and slower to navigate — and it's something we hear from customers directly.

We're rebuilding HackerOne on a single, modern design foundation so that:

  • Every page behaves the way you'd expect it to, with the same navigation patterns, components, and interactions everywhere.

  • The platform looks and feels like the modern product it is — consistent, polished, and aligned with where HackerOne is headed.

  • We can move faster on future improvements, because updates to one part of the platform no longer require touching several different systems at once.

In short: a more predictable, streamlined experience today, and a foundation that lets us improve HackerOne faster going forward.

What's Actually Changing

We know "we're redesigning the platform" can sound bigger than it is, so to be clear:

  • Most pages are getting a visual refresh, not a rework. The layout, navigation, and workflows you already know will mostly stay the same — we're simply rebuilding them on our new design system and cleaning up small usability issues along the way.

  • A small number of pages are being more deliberately redesigned to better reflect how you use HackerOne today.

  • We're not taking capability away from you. The vast majority of what you can do in HackerOne today, you'll still be able to do after this update — same workflows, same actions, just a cleaner experience. In a small number of cases, we're retiring features that see very little use or that are redundant with something else on the platform.

Timeline: A Gradual, Page-by-Page Rollout

This isn't a single overnight switch. We're rolling out the new look page by page over the next several months, so you have time to get comfortable with each change as it comes.

Phase

What to Expect

Now

A button appears at the top of your dashboard. You can turn on the new experience whenever you're ready.

Next several months

Additional pages are refreshed and added to the new experience, in stages.

Later

Once every page has moved over and we've addressed early feedback, the new experience becomes the default.

Because this happens gradually, you may see a mix of "classic" and "new" styling across the platform for a while during the transition — that's expected, not a bug.

How to See It

  1. Look for the Try the new platform button in the HackerOne header bar.

  2. Switch it on whenever you're ready to explore the updated pages.

  3. Not loving it yet, or need to get something done quickly in a familiar layout? Switch back to classic at any time — nothing about your data or your ability to get work done changes either way.

When you switch back to classic, we'll ask you a quick, optional question about why. It takes a few seconds and goes directly to the team building this — it's one of the main ways we're prioritizing what to fix and improve next.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I lose access to any features? No. This is a visual and usability update, not a feature change. Everything you can do in HackerOne today, you'll still be able to do.

Do I have to switch to the new experience right now? No. The button is entirely optional for now, and switching back to classic is always available with no downside.

Will this happen all at once? No. Pages are moving over gradually over the coming months, so you can get used to changes at your own pace rather than all at once.

What if something looks broken or I can't find something? Let us know! You can share feedback anytime the toggle prompts you, or bring it up with your HackerOne Customer Success partner directly. We're actively watching for issues during this rollout.

Will my saved bookmarks or links still work? We're working to make sure existing links and bookmarks continue to work as pages move to the new experience. If you run into a broken link, please let us know so we can fix it quickly.

Who can I talk to if I have questions? Your HackerOne Customer Success partner is happy to walk through any part of this with you — feel free to bring it up on your next call, or reach out anytime.

We'll continue to update this page as new milestones roll out. Thank you for helping us build a better HackerOne.
